Ron Hacker: Back Door Man The backdoor men and two-timing women who populate much of Ron Hacker's music reflect the intensity of his real-life experiences. "I've been married three times," explains the 55 year old bluesman. "Most of my blues are about my first two wives." Bassist Artis Joyce and drummer Shad Harris --the Hacksaws --supply solid backing on the disc. Joyce has extensive experience with such artists as Ron Thompson and Charlie Musselwhite, while Harris is best known for his work in the Tommy Castro Band. Ron Hacker is a dyed-in-the-Delta-cotton bluesman. "I didn't come up as a teenager playing rock'n'roll," he states. "I've never played anything but the blues."
